February 4, Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 1 to Manufacturing. This does not mean that the Service Pack is available to download and install just yet. This means that the code is complete and has been released to be slip-streamed into new media kits and to start the process of making it available to download from the Microsoft Download Center and through Windows Update.

Here is the availability for Vista SP1:

  • Mid-March, SP1 will be released to Windows Update and the Donwload Center – in English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese.
  • Mid-April, SP1 will be delivered automatically to to customer PC’s whi have choosen to enable the automatic download of updates.
  • The remaining languages with RTM in April.
