As the other two commentors mentioned, when it comes to free directory assistance. They differ in some important ways, so try them all out and see which one(s) you prefer. You may want to try them all every so often just to see what's new! Grin!

I prefer the ones that have operators to help when the automation doesn't recognize me and that also don't restrict me to only business searches - sometimes I need to find people, too!

Thanks Alan. I blogged about 800-411-SAVE and 800-FREE-411 a while back. I have used both of these in the past and was happy with them too. They have been around a little longer than the Live Search 411.

I'm a big fan of Live search (because I hate Google), but I have to say that I still am not happy with voice recognition software in general. The overly pleasant voice telling me they didn't understand me drives me nuts!

In this case I still use people to get information. I call 800-411-SAVE for business, category, or even people's or government phone numbers. Its answered by live agents and I don't have to listen to someone trying to be too polite will not helping me.
