While running Vista I never updated the wireless driver but also never had any issues with my A/V causing an issue with the driver. You may want to place an exception in your A/V software not to scan the NETw4v64.sys file. Another option would be to replace your A/V software. I am now running the free Microsoft Security Essentials on my home machines and Microsoft ForeFront on my work machine. Before that I was using eTrust on my work machine and OneCare on my home machine without any issues with the wireless driver.
