I have upgraded to Windows 7 on all my machines so am not experiencing this problem any longer. While running Vista I never updated the wireless driver but also never had any issues with my A/V causing an issue with the driver. You may want to place an exception in your A/V software not to scan the NETw4v64.sys file.

Another option would be to replace your A/V software. I am now running the free Microsoft Security Essentials on my home machines and Microsoft ForeFront on my work machine. Before that I was using eTrust on my work machine and OneCare on my home machine without any issues with the wireless driver.

Hi, This is a very useful tip, I really appreciate it. I'm having some issues with my Windows Vista Business x64, though less frequently nowadays. However, apparently the wireless driver is crashing my virus checker (several times a day).

So, I was wondering if you have updated your NETw4v64.sys since this posting? If so, what version are you using, and are you still encountering problems. I am about to update the driver, and don't want things to become less, rather than more stable.

Thanks in advance!
