Internet Explorer 8 has been launched! The final build of IE 8 was released in 25 languages for Windows Vista/XP and Windows Server 2008/2003 for 32-bit and 64-bit systems. For those of us who are running Windows 7 Beta, we’ll have to wait for the next milestone release (RC1 ?) to be able to use the released version of IE 8.

Instead of doing a feature by feature on this post, let’s take a look at the big picture around the IE 8 release. The new browser is focused on how people use the Web and includes ways to make common in-browser tasks easier. IE 8 supports the W3C standards and renders web site in standards mode by default. If you are viewing a site that looks funny, you can also click the compatibility mode button to render the site to behave like it did in a previous version of IE. Security has also been enhanced with visual queues that helps users easily determine what web site they are actually viewing.
