This does NOT affect the Microsoft Office Suite or Windows SharePoint Services. This DOEs affect Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Forms Server 2007, Project Server 2007, Search Server 2008, and Search Server 2008 Express.

There is a bug in the Office System 2007 Service Pack 2 that improperly activates a product expiration date. the expiration occurs 180 days after the service pack is installed. That expiration causes the servers mentioned above, including MOSS to not be accessible to end users.  No configuration information or user data is affected by this bug and your installation can be fully recovered.

Microsoft is developing a hotfix that addresses this problem and there are workarounds for the issue. If you need to open a case with Microsoft Support,support for security and critical hotfixes is free.
